The books were never good as actual mysteries.
Despite my complaints about the way that particular mystery was handled with very little evidence to support it, I still enjoyed the show for its fun characters and for dealing with parts of Type-Moon I actually give a shit about.

But seriously, how does one stop hating FGO for the massive negative impact it's had for years on Type-Moon, Nasu, and the fanbase, and simply enjoy its new lore and episodic story and self-insert protagonist?
I unironically wish I could do that. It feels like if I look forward to more FGO, I'll be agreeing with the direction TM is going in, and it's just wrong for a GOfag to ask for real Nasu works. Plus, it's not easy to be excited for it anyway, when I know I won't enjoy it much because of the protagonist, Servant focus, gameplay, and the entire format that really make me hate 99% of it.
