Did you know that Thresher sharks use their elongated tail as a whip in order to stun their targets? The force of the tail whip creates a shockwave in the water which disorientates smaller prey, which makes it particularly effective at hunting schools of fish. In fact, this move is powerful enough that it has even been observed as being able cut its prey in half!

This tail also grants it a very impressive jump aka "breach," though the reasons for why threshers like to jump out of the water are still not fully understood.

Isn't that jawsome?
