The fan community will die a few years after ZUN declares that he's done with Touhou. The thing that's been keeping the fandom going are the new music and characters. Without new stuff, popularity will dwindle.

ZUN even said himself that he's worried for the future of Touhou. He already won't be attending Reitaisai, but hopefully that's just it. Although I congratulate ZUN on the marriage, hopefully he won't abandon all his children (Touhous).
