The man, by the way, is only faking his death. He returned to town later and, once the next issue of Bunbunmaru was out, was recognised as an honorary youkai hunter... by his fellow men, anyway. Aya came around to squeeze him for a post-mortem interview, too, but that's neither here nor there.
