Mirusir lost when he wrongly assumed the battle for #1000 would be a race and not a popularity contest despite all the signs pointing to the latter basically weeks ago. He did nothing to address this and if anything doubled down on the persona that wasn't earning him any favours.
Unfortunately I missed 90% of the funny shenanigans while sleeping and ended up not even posting that much in #1000 itself but nothing was surprising to see after the fact.
In hindsight, it was a big PR fumble. Even an appeal to sympathy might have been a more effective approach.
