Late to answers graph thing, but:
This shows how I really screwed up, I was going about barely understanding cards but answering 'good' to most things. I've said this yesterday. But even after anons told me to not get overkill about, I went ahead and forgot the deck to start again (actually ended up getting another similar deck in different format).
So my statistics are all screwed up, because the overwhelming 'good' presses, but most of the 'again' presses are probably from these two days.
Yesterday I punched through 60 new cards, because indeed about of them I got right easily enough. The other half not so much, but only about 10 of them I really struggled with for some reason.
But indeed, I think this is something important to do, because if you just bash through cards even if you're not close to getting them right, then you're not really trying to exercise your memory. Then no matter how many times you see it again, it really wouldn't stick.
Retention may not be as important later on, I'm no get stuck up if I don't remember them straight away, but if I'm not at least trying to pull my memory and keep repeating the card until I can least it get it right once, then I'm sort of missing the whole point of spaced repetition that is Anki.
