Rika, duh. That answer has only been strengthened after all that talk about miracles and Eua referring to her as "that cat", just like Featherine does. Not to mention Featherine imlpying in Umineko that Bern wasn't always her name.

There's clearly another sequel needed (maybe one of the 3 upcoming 2021 manga?) to explain stuff like how did Featherine turn Bern into such a monster, why the latter hates her so much, how is witch Satoko chasing after Rika exactly and the relationship between Eua and Hanyuu, but god do I NOT want it to happen. I wish Higurashi had been left alone.

But Higurashi's Bern very explicitly says she's not Rika and makes fun of the reader for thinking that. Umi Bern on the other hand straight up mentions that she was in Higurashi willy nilly, matching her backstory in ep6.

I think what you're doing is applying your own assumption of who Bern, Frderica and Rika are and applying that concept to Lambda while also ignoring Lambda's actual backstory. The Rika we know was the miko of a game master who existed outside of those self contained worlds, she took "possession" of the actual Rika Furude every time she entered a kakera and erased the old one in the process, something she starts lamenting in Saikoroshi. Frederica also has a very different backstory than Bern and indeed Lambdadelta. Bern is a Rika who lost so many times her mind broke completely and became bitter and monstruous. Does that sound like either Rika (at least, for now, especially that Satoko just so happened to mention that "breaking Rika's mind" is her goal) or Frederica to you?

You're also missing a key detail. Lambda existed BEFORE the Higurashi gameboard. Bern says Lambda more or less created her with said gameboard. When did this split between Rika and Frederica happen? After losing many times, according to Ryukishi, so why claim this applies to Satoko and Lambda?

We also know Lambda's past as a human, where she was trapped in a logic error, escaped and became a witch.

The catbox allegory is more so an propietary aspect of Umineko but by no means something that makes Higurashi into something other than just another gameboard of the lot, like Ryukishi said, each WTC is about gameboards with pieces and each ones has their own mechanics. With that statement alone you can explain away any difference no matter what from how vague and general it is.

This limitation is also pretty unremarkable considering Battler and Ange defeat Bern. In the end they are kakeras just like Higurashi and they can have different endings, including ones with different survivors.

You're not, the police explicitly say that there were no survivors whatsoever, when we know that in the real world Eva did survive and the whole goddamn world knew about it. The point here is that kakeras can change so this catbox allegation isn't as limiting as you think and more importantly isn't as different from Higurashi as you claimed, because these are still kakeras in the end, where different people can survive the explosion if the game master feels like it (and if a certain someone doesn't mess it up against the script's will).

I'm not talking about the Rokkenjima game in it, but rather the end as I mentioned when the characters go as far as talking about fucking Higurashi itself as well as sprites and such, exactly like the post-game sessions from Higurashi.

Like I said before, whatever limitations these characters have from being tied to the catbox don't seem very noteworthwy considering not only can they go to places like the city of books but also create kakeras where there's different survivors to the explosion. There's also >>34222147 to take into consideration so I'm not sure how much it actually matters and more importantly what does it all have to do with Higurashi being "real" or not considering we know Umineko can have kakeras with different endings, including one where the original intention was for everyone to survive and, because of how kakeras work, it would be as "real" as say, Matsuribayashi, the original happy ending.

But again, different mechanics between gameboards. Claiming to know which ones count for this distinction seems pretty pointless since neither of us can actually know for certain.

Course it does. It finally adds closure to Battler's mother and Ange can say her respectful goodbyes despite having hated her before. All grudges are finally settled. Plus Umineko kind of told us early on that things didn't end well for Rika anyhow and she became the embodiment of bitterness and malice.
