That is indeed the short route. Kaga kitted out with a bomber and three fighters can get air parity at the air raid nodes and boss node and still hit like a small truck.

Route and Boss support might as well be mandatory though, but very very helpful, especially at the Ru node.

Dude I don't even fucking know, I didn't take any damage from any node until the last air raid node, where Kaga got hit for 30~ and Kasumi took scratch damage for literally fuck all.
I think I B ranked Ru node even, air support killed a destroyer and scratched a Ru, flag ru survived unscathed, one sunk, one at red and the last yellow.
