I don't think you're guessing right; he never was popular, but never was unpopular either. Sad to say but unless you dig back to 2010, when it comes to these past couple years I think people talked more about him when he helped DECO doing the arrangements on Delusion Tax/Conti New than for his own projects.

I'm curious too now, what were your guesses?
I wonder if people have had similar experiences with other Vocaloid artists. Well, I know people have, but I don't know exactly know which producers in question it's all about.
