Not how I would put my complaint, but that's how the end result often feels like. What usually bothers me about trap protags is that many games never seem to fully capitalize into the fetish and they often have some sort of flimsy excuse for the protagonist grudgingly cross-dressing against his will instead. But despite that reluctance we almost never get any gap moe moments where the protag actually likes "boys' stuff" or something else to make him even remotely relatable, so he really just ends up being a de facto girl with a dick. Also take a sip every time a trap game makes the tired old joke about the protagonist being the most feminine character in the cast.

On the flip side I really like they tend to get fully voiced more often than regular male protags, but that's about it.
