I'm really not. Most spellcards are simply a liability to use due to how highly punishable they are and the way the graze system works, or only work off of one or two combos anyway. Truly good spellcards are either reversals (like Alice's Trip Wire), HUGE damage enhancers that work well with either a variety of combo openings OR work well with a very safe move (such as Meiling's True Radiant Rainbow Fist), or ones that fundamentally change the battlefield (such as Utsuho's Subterranean Sun or, indeed, most of Yukari's spellcards). All other spellcards are simply chafe

In fact, honestly, Utsuho and Yukari got most of the good spellcards period. I can't really think of a character that has as many genuinely useful spellcards as them

If nothing else, I do prefer left though, though less grimdark and more haughty, overly theatrical showmanship. It's part of what I like about Alice, actually; she has such a flair for the dramatic

This is probably one of my favorite pictures, especially if you subscribe to the "dolls aren't alive, Alice is just controlling them" theory. Alice truly loves to make dramatic shows of force. That flair for theater is part of what I like about her

Speaking as an Alice mainer here, here's the quick gist of it:

Almost all alt skillcards that weren't previously popular were buffed in some way. Low tier characters (Sanae, Suwako) got the shit buffed out of them, high tier ones had their crazy-good skills nerfed

Alice has some new moves and bullet patterns that make her a LOT better
Sanae got the shit buffed out of her
Suwako got some buffs
Some of Utsuho's alt skills were buffed. For instance, alt 22BC Shooting Sun now makes a huge geyser of flame upon hitting the ground, allowing it to see more usage in combos and possibly function as anti-air
Komachi got her C boolets nerfed (only one can be onscreen at once) and some other stuff was adjusted
China got a few nerfs (lol)
Remilia had some of her alt skillcards fucked around with. For instance, her alt 214BC pink chain move now yanks her towards her enemy if it directly hits her foe

Other than that, I don't know what kind of changes were made. I only play Alice and China, so I've only noticed the subtle changes made to them, and the noticeable changes to the other characters. Feel free to ask me about Alice or China if you're curious about their changes

We should all start a list of changes we find

Here's the changes I've found so far for Alice

General bullet and default move changes:
All bullets have a new pattern. C bullets "fan out" in a style similar to Yukari's B bullets, rather than the fairly random distribution they had before. B bullets now do not go across the entire screen. They are limited to a short range in front of Alice, similar to the range of her 6A. However, now 5B does not wiff when point blank

66C has a new animation

6A is now chargeable


Special move changes:

Default 236C now does not travel as high

Default 214B dolls appear to be stationed slightly higher than before before they swing at the enemy

Ambush Dolls 236BC has been changed: They now hide BEHIND the background when summoned, rather than just standing in place and getting destroyed by bullets. They also attack in a different pattern. They will stay in place for as long as you hold the button down rather than attacking automatically after a certain point

New move: 4C. This move throws a doll directly behind Alice.

Still investigating to see what other new Alice changes have been made, but that's what I've found so far

So, does anyone know a decent, easy to use program for getting Hisoutensoku to recognize multiple buttons assigned to a single function, IE two buttons assigned to C instead of just one? I ask because I'm trying to figure out if there is any way to make use of Alice's Ambush Doll alt 236bc, but expecting my poor thumb to deal with holding down B or C AND still be doing other shit as well is just too much to ask of it. I use a PS2 controller, so the logical conclusion is "use the R2 and L2 buttons!"

But I still want to use the face buttons on the front for boolets and shit as well. So, yeah. Help, please!
