cats are great but be aware you will be cleaning up after them a lot.

they're probably the perfect pet for the NEET/hiki type because they love having their people around, even if they're just sleeping. (notice i said people, not owner. cats are very independent.) my cats hate it when i leave and will bitch me out when i return.

i would recommend getting 2 (preferably from the same litter or adopting two who grew up together) if you aren't at home for long periods. they can get kinda sketchy when left alone a lot.

they love to rip shit up, especially things like couches, stuffed chairs, beds, etc. even if you buy them a scratching post and/or cat tree.

your place is gonna smell like cat no matter how much you clean. if you're really anal about cleanliness, a cat may not be for you.

the inevitable vet bills can get expensive so be prepared.

that being said, i love my cats and am so glad i adopted them.
