Yeah. I could only guess what ZUN meant when using that sprite. Makai is a world of demons and that enemy is apparently a black magician turned phantom, so I guess it's just a reference?

Last one from this game. These two girls. They look suspiciously like generic ZUN designs, the red one likes almost exactly like EoSD Reimu. This game came out before HRtP was even in development. Could this have influenced him? Perhaps. Oh >>21426028 pointed out that "the Last Judgement" takes a segment from a music track in this game. So, yeah. There's probably a whole lot that's undiscovered.
