Even if, didn't the first anime establish that a dead shipgirl can come back after her abyssal form is sunk?
Remember, the Kaga we saw in te first anime already died (at least) two times, one time as shipgirl and a second time as abyssal (well, and one time as a carrier in 1942).
So as long a they don't make a new background for the second anime, death isn't permanent for them.
