I mean, I get the basic outline of events. But I'm just confused about everything else. Why are there like five different versions of what's going on in 1998? Ange jumps off at the start of the VN and survives and goes on her big adventure to Rokkenjima and meets Ikuko, and she jumps off near the end (pic related) and doesn't survive, but she also doesn't jump off and it leads to the 'Magic' ending.

But also like, the metanarrative of what exactly truth is. It feels like there's a rejection of singular objective truth, with the entirety of Chapter 8 being a fight against witches revealing the truth of what happened on Rokkenjima to protect Ange and the scenes of all the Goats trying to deny them a happy ending, but then the Manga apparently answers all the questions and is official and canon according to R07? Doesn't that undermine the whole point of not opening up the cat box and giving Ange's family a happy ending since it's literally opening up the cat box for us to see? I don't get it. I don't get anything. I'm so confused.
