The incident with Lancelot hardened her heart and made her obsessed with the Grail, which we get to see in the Fate route (less so in other routes).

There's even a bad end where it's shown she wants the grail so badly that she'll decapitate Shirou in a second if she wasn't in love with him. (On reflex, not even on purpose)

If I could rewrite Fate/Stay Night, this is the first thing that would have happened after Rin's cool intro.

I do not hate Fate/Stay Night. I do hate some parts of it and some individual characters, and the only good thing about the translation I can say is that it exists, but as a whole every route managed to leave a positive taste in my mouth and I felt like I got more than my $0's worth.

OP's isn't a BAD END, but I guess Gil could've gotten Saber in either of those 2 after curtain falls.
