Today I went downstairs to get something to eat while mom was cleaning her room. On the way back I nearly fell down and then I suddenly remembered that awesome scene from the rebuild movies when Mari turns off the limiter on her eva and fights the angel (epic)
I got really excited, shouted nothing ventured nothing gained like Mari in the movie and started climbing the stairs on all fours shouting ZA BEASTO. I get to the top and my mom is just standing there looking down at me like I'm some sort of bug and then she tells me to "grow the fuck up" I tried to get away but then she started harassing me asking me when I'm going back to college, hows the job hunt going, etc.

that was the first time I ever heard my mom cuss.

Anyone else have to put up with their parents trying to 'help' you make friends and socialize? Last year for my 21st my mom invited everyone I knew in HS to my birthday party through facebook without even telling me. She woke me up earlier than usual that morning and told me to go buy groceries which we didn't even need because she had gone shopping the day before. When I got back there were birthday decorations all over the house, a huge cake, drinks and even a DJ. My mom dried her tears and told me the invitations must have gotten lost in the mail and then we had cake with the DJ. He helped us put down the decorations and left. Later that night she made a post on facebook 'shaming' all my 'friends' and got upset because no one replied.

A couple months ago I found my family all dressed up waiting for me in the living room when I came back from the store. They made me sit down and told me they had found my pee bottles, then started asking me about my personal hygiene, my plans for the future, why I never go out and why I have no friends or significant other at the age of 22 and so on. They concluded the interrogation by revealing that they had gotten me an appointment with a mental health professional because it's in my best interests. I've been seeing him for some time and all he's done is waste my time as well as my family's money, he won't even get me prescriptions for any of the cool stuff you guys talk about in the forum. Whenever I ask him how long I'm gonna have to keep seeing him he either dodges the question or gives me vague responses such as "when I'm confident you're ready to move on" and such, so I'm guess we're gonna have to keep paying him for a good 3 or 4 years.
