>ill slaughter anyone who harms /jp/ or a /jp/er!!!

What if a /jp/er harms another /jp/er? Would you slaughter that /jp/er? And then would you slaughter yourself, since you harmed a /jp/er?

A young sister may call his brother "nii-san" or "Onii-chan".

"nii" means brother
"san" is the formal suffix
"chan" is the affectionate suffix
"O" is honorific

And that's where you lose me. If "nii-san" is formal and "onii-chan" is informal and affectionate... why the honorific "o" goes in the latter and not in the former?
