The problem comes from trying to make the setting have a tone it doesn't, cutesokyo into a isekai and grimsokyo into some serious drama, the franchise is pretty much dark comedy and a way for ZUN to talk about whatever issue/event he found interesting that week. And he finds characters being "bad" to be funny, in essence, Touhou is like The Simpsons or Family Guy or Rick and Morty or any number of adult comedy where the joke comes from bad people doing questionable things. So when Byakuren's dream self clams to make her servants do all the busy work and wanting to put bombs on their heads, we aren't meant to go "gasp! That nun is evil" instead, "Heh, lazy big breasted nun claims to be diligent but is actually lazy." That's why the moe vs grim debate is so silly, it misses the point and it's no better than youtube videos over analyzing kids' shows. Granted, it is always right to correct when people have an idea of a character that isn't true, canon still exists, but is more jerk.
Lewdsokyo is also more canon than moe or grim, these women engage in vices all the time, who's to say human cock isn't one of them.
