I dug up a picture of some of the things I was doing around the 30 hour mark that I posted threads past. Top upper left corner is me burning through my stacks of herbed in curarias quickly in the puppy caves by having a hungry ghost nibble on me. Since hungry ghosts make you hungry my eat intervals are shortened greatly. The more hosts on you the faster the eat intervals as well. The hungry ghost trick works really well as long as your speed isn't too high. If your speed is too high it will feel life forever until the ghost attacks you next. Luckily, there's a fix for that. How I fixed that was getting a snail, a very slow creature, gene engineering it levels, using the directive special action to make it not attack things, and mounting the snail to reduce my speed.

Top right is me mass mining dungeons with the special action Houzanha to raise constitution. Middle left picture shows just how ridiculous attending magic classes can be in raising the magic attribute as well as other attributes. Middle right shows how bulk investing is good for raising charisma. Training magic capacity is a good way to raise will but one needs to be careful while doing that. It becomes a whole lot easier to train once you have a decent amount of HP. It's also helps a whole lot if you have a high level Cure of Jua. Currently my Cure of Jua is so powerful that I heal significantly more damage than I take when I overcast.

While I don't have a frame of reference to exactly make sense of the numbers, I have been using this google doc as reference to help remind me what skills tie to what attributes and to give me hints on what is important in leveling skills. For instance, the weapon skills require people to hunt down enemies with greater and greater evasion skill to train it.

A combo of herbs and skill grind is the best way to raise attributes.

Think somebody was wondering last thread why his attributes weren't really increasing despite having good potentials. Don't know what to tell you aside from the fact that having superb potential is just half of the equation. Maybe you already knew that but nevertheless this can serve as a lesson to new people playing Elona. All having superb potential does for your attributes is makes it easier for them to level up. You still need to grind the associated skills for the attributes to level them up.

I found this spreadsheet, which I pulled from the Elona wiki, very helpful in reminding me what skills are keyed to what attributes. It also has useful information about leveling skills and just useful notes.

These are some of my favorite activities I do to raise my attributes. First, good food can help raise your attributes. The best are herbs especially the herb in recipe that uses Currarias as a base. When my farms are ready to be harvested I take inventory and set aside some herbs to eat for my journey, some herbs to use for power attribute training, and the rest goes into storage. The herbs I use for power training are the ones I eat while a hungry ghost nibbles on me. Hungry ghost makes my character become hungry faster so I go through my herb stacks really quickly leading to some nice general attribute gains across all attributes.

The mining skill is excellent for raising constitution. It's now extremely easy to strip mine a place using the special action of Houzanha. If you have enough stamina, you can knock down every single wall in a dungeon in mere seconds. Raises your mining skill nicely and leads to some constitution gains here and there.

Visiting a wizard and attending a magic school leads to amazing magic attribute gains. Just look at the picture. After sleeping enough to get all my ball like spells to 400 potential and drinking some blessed potions of potential, I decided to spam the warlock school and the picture describes what happened.

You can get great charisma gains off of bulk investing. Raising shop levels fifty at a time does wonders for charisma.

For will I either train magic capacity or leave it to my herbs. For Learning gardening, cooking, literacy, memorization are all things I'm normally doing to raise it. Since my character is my a martial artist/mage hybrid his strength points generally come from me putting my fist in some monster's face. Dexterity and Perception I let my herbs handle.
