You don't have to bring the character types that the game wants you to so if you have some really shitty battle that only buffs stuff like support and recovery characters and also buffs the wrong attack type too, you can just bring other characters and brute force it. You can also bring characters with the P increasing switch skill to quickly go all in with attacks.
