It's not like its a single translation either. We have the zombie book profile, both the fan translation and Seven Sea's one (which calls them a "new form of life"), plus the World Guide 1 undead article which says the following:

For this reason, it is said that the undead aren't “human corpses reanimated via mamono mana”, but “organisms called undead that are reborn from human corpses due to mamono mana.”

At the very least it is confirmed undead can get pregnant once they have regenerated enough, and give birth to the same kind of undead. We also know that after a certain stage of power growth elementals can give birth. No word on the magical material and ghost girls though.
