People, 'love' wasn't the only theme in Umineko. It was mostly about 'truth'. In case you people hadn't noticed (since you all seem to completely ignore it), Yasu is not the culprit. The point of the story is that some things are better left unknown, hence the ending everyone complains so hard about. A similar (but much less vocal) reaction was heard when Remember11 didn't solve its mysteries at the end of the story.

Love does play an important role, though, as according to Ryukishi it plays a large role in accepting and understanding the truth: "Without love, it can't be seen."
Ange (just like the fanbase) sought for a simple whodunnit for the Rokkenjima murders, but did so just so she could have someone to blame. She didn't really care about why it was done, she just wants to hate somebody. There was no love in her investigation.
Then, at the end of episode 7, she was confronted with a solution (that only later seemed possibly not true), and she was unable to accept it because she only sought to hate somebody, and she didn't want to hate her own family.

Battler, Yasu and Eva all had love and understood that the truth of Rokkenjima should not be known to anyone (whoever did it, they must have had their reasons - but the outside world will only think of them as a monster if it was ever revealed). Both Ange and the fanbase are completely loveless and simply call for someone to pin the murders on.

From the very start, his intent was to break the biggest rule in the murder mystery genre. It's not a case of lack of foreshadowing, irrelevant message (the entire fucking game was about 'truth') or bad planning, it was just a very controversial decision. You're all free to hate on him for that, but at least understand why you're hating the story.
