Canon Gazer is arguably better if you like Cyclops types to start with. She comes across as mean and arrogant but just wants someone to love her for who she is, she turns into spaghetti if she tries to use her powers on a guy who actually likes her. They have a cute side that feels inferior and longs for acceptance, there's a lot more that can be done with that sort of thing than your stereotypical thread canon neet.

I do like both versions though, Gazers are great.
