The problem with physical games is that they're worthless if you can't find any players willing to play that specific game with you. I never found anyone to play Duel Masters with, let alone any truly obscure TCGs.

That said, even if I were to find other people interested in obscure TCGs, it's very unlikely any TCG will ever come close to Magic: the Gathering. They have 19 years of experience and it shows, with the perfectly fine-tuned rules and the constant stream of expansions that keeps bringing new things to the table. I spend one night a week playing MTG for several hours straight with the same people every week, yet every time it's completely different again.
