I'm going to start posting one of these prompts each week. Here's an old one, to start with:

You're moving to a new city, where you have a job lined up. The bus pulls up to an empty stop around seven or eight PM, and you're the only passenger to disembark. You spend the next three hours wandering around, trying to find the cheap apartment you'll be staying in (while you look for better accommodations). The city is surprisingly quiet, and the air cools rapidly with the coming night.
You stop in a diner for a greasy dinner while wandering around. Finally, your cell phone connects to the data network long enough for Moogle Maps to work. A short walk after finishing your unhealthy but delicious meal finds you in front of the front door of the apartment building. Even smaller and more run down than the price suggested.
You climb the stairs to the second floor, and find the door that reads "203 A", like the key they mailed to you. The lock is sticky, but some wiggling gets the door creaking open. The apartment is quiet, smells a bit odd, and is painfully empty. Your three boxes sit unopened in hallway by the door, where the movers left them. At least you don't have much to put away. You start charging your phone, and set it to play some music while you put things away. You start by hefting the one helpfully labeled "clothes + misc" to what you guess will be your bedroom, and dig out a pile of shirts and hangers. You open up your closet to put them away, but lurking inside you find...
