The interace language is the first one in the list. Just keep Japanese as second and it'll be fine.

The problem is that the same character is displayed differently depending on whether it's Japanese or Chinese. By default android uses the Chinese version. If you add Japanese to that list it will use the Japanese version.

Just look at how 日本語冒険 looks differently for you and me.
