Some holos simply work harder than others and are just more motivated. Hololive as a whole is getting very mainstream in Japan similar to the AKB48 boom. Gachikois are always going to follow their own holos unless circumstances change like hooking up with a girl or fading of interest slowly woking up from gachikoi dream(Aqua/Ayame streaming to collect paycheck). The easiest comparison for Hololive atm is imagine if you're in a company for employee of 30, you might know their faces but you're not expected to interact with every single person.

Envy and jealousy are definitely there because there's others that felt like it's unfair that they are making more despite doing less(in EN Kiara is the easiest example of this).

Personality wise there will eventually be a role overlap but it's not necessarily a bad thing because they're still unique in their own thoughts and approaches to things. This was the exact model of how AKB is still running if you look at the group as a whole you will literally have no idea who is what.

Audience attention completely depends the audience themselves. Some will watch a game but would not listen to zatsudans while the reverse is also true. Some just watches clips. Some just gets ASMR to coom.

The tight-knit family only applies to certain members. You kind of have holos that always does their own thing like Luna and Towa even Flare in the earlier days. The new group indirectly breaths new life in terms of interactions with holos you know with established persona.

No one in holo wants to quit their "job" as long as they can pull in a comfortable amount of income for their living expenses, even holostar with a small fanbase still pulls in enough money to live comfortable like Roberu. The only case where they would retire is if they have dirt that ruin their own public image or their mental health is declining to the point where it completely affects their motivation. Being in holo is equivalent to being on the top of the food chain for chuubas. If you own a company you would rather dilute your audiences a bit than letting them go completely to another company.

It's already been a long time compared to the time frame when Gen 5 came in before Gen 4 can really settle down.

We're already entering an era future generation of kids where to them being a gachikoi of their oshi is going to be the norm for them. And they will support all they can with their paycheck. Twitch also has this model and its been successful for over a decade now and the money clearly hasn't run out yet so Hololive itself doesn't have a reason to go steady.

At the end of the day. They're selling you something as chuubas wether they're affection, entertainment, music, or happiness.
As long as the demand is there and people are willing to pay for it. Hololive is going to debut more generations since they still wants to grow and it's just going to become a culture eventually. Their pay structure automatically weeds out ones who eventually can not go on anymore in the future thanks to the fact that every holo's base pay we last known about were dirt cheap and they make most of their money from Supacha, Merchandise goods and Concerts.
