And sometimes animals give the middle finger to natural selection and turn out as something completely unexpected. This pink fellow is one of those. Equivalent to an albino, it would have been long dead if not for humans, but a pair were caught and bred.

And I don't know how people came up with the idea to patch neurons up with spider silk, but it's working:
