Vocaloid probably has one of the higher ratios of female fans. Miku is cute and entry level to your average Boku no Normie girl and some of those get pretty deep into the Miku aesthetic and cosplay. Once you get into Fujoshi shit they cling to Kaito, Len even Gakupo HARD and if you get into real desperate Fujo territory they even find Fukase and fucking Ryuto and now you're getting near the bottom of the Vocaloid-Fujoshi iceberg now.

I mean, I only see it through my experiences. Most male loids only have niche followings to begin with a majority of which are female fans. In the West almost all the female fans gravitate to Kaito and Len with a cult following the lesser loids like Fukase and Piko etc. but they're comparably much smaller.

Gaku is barely on their radar. I'm pretty sure it's because he's like a competitor to Kaito (The Anti-Kaito) and the personality the NicoNico community have sort of given him (which is why they love him and most male fans think he's kinda funny too) paints him as like this womanizing sleezy dude which is probably why a lot of Western female fans (the only serious consumers of male loids in the West) disownor outright hate him.

Only further reinforcing this perception is the fact that a lot of Gaku's most popular songs reinforce the whole womanizer thing.

Coming to mind, the 2016 had a whole bit with Gaku gets beat up by the girls when he keeps trying to hit on them, steals the life-sized Yukari figurine and does a cover of "Anyone is Fine I Just Really Want To Date" where he's a total goof ball.

Ultimately, pretty funny imo but it hurts his reputation I guess. Still love it when he names all the different female loids.
