My bad.
There is not much to share, except for some intense dreams lately, though. But I will lurk.

>Do you feel like the threads contributed to this or did this happen for other reasons?
No, I don't think they did. It happened for other reasons, those reasons being a prolonged stay in the land of the gods (i.e., Japan).
>Tamakazura from Tale of Genji, now enshrined in Tamakazura Jinja. This is mentioned in David Chart's An Introduction to Shinto.
Shit, that's interesting. And by the way, I just found the guy's website by searching for Tamakazura lol.
>Did you post in the first thread? I think "being on the fence" about this subject is very generous, hehe. But something to consider - apparently some time before his death Jung was asked "what are the boundaries of the individual" and he replied "none, they are infinite". Where is the psyche of an infinite being, anon?`
I may have posted, but in a belittling tone if so.
As for your anecdote, he did change his views towards the esoteric as he grew older, and I will never laugh off anything that man said, but that is, if nothing else, not the whole story. He may have been referring to the collective unconscious. But then I would personally advise against colliding the self and the unconscious, which Jung himself constantly did, too. It has a tremendous force and I do believe it is necessary to apply a bit of healthy skepticism to his manifestations, because we don't really know (and we can't know) what exactly is his composition, or his limits. Jung himself woke up once to an apparition of Jesus covered in emerald, and he didn't go and say "Jesus was actually green". He considered the message his unconscious wanted to transmit to him instead.
Hence why I am on the "fence" about all of this. Still, can't help being fascinated by it.
I can also help you translating anything Japanese if you need, btw. Just hit me up if you are at any point interested.

Damn, what a beautiful thread. Honestly, I have always watched anime at my own pace, so after more than a decade deep in this (formerly) niche subculture, I still have so many legendary shows of that period to watch in the backlog. But looking at this thread, I also think I am very fortunate to have that many gems left to enjoy. There were so many great shows from the 2000... thanks for this thread is what I want to say, I guess.
