I'm 4 episodes into steins gate with my parents and goddamn Higurashi fucking destroys it, I can't believe people used to say Steins is the ultimate time travel anime, this shit is fucking boring you'd have to pay me to re-watch these episodes and apparently it remains boring until episode 12
The Higu anime is rushed, but even if the VN had been properly adapted it wouldn't waste my time like this.
Even if in VN time it took like 6 hours for Tomitake to get murdered and start the real Onikakushi plot, it had tons of funny moments with the club and developed their relationships nicely while I wouldn't care right now 4 eps in if all the main cast fucking dies, they're not very funny nor show hidden depth.
I'll have to resort to the dub to keep interest, treating it like a more normal mystery show might help take it a bit more seriously instead of hearing everyone talk in Japanese with tons of otaku culture dialogues.
