According to a Q and A, KC's mermaids can move on land in 3 ways.

1. All of them are able to move about a bit by sliding/pushing their tails. Presumably this is rather slow and ungainly.

2. With some work they can learn the polymorph spell to give them humanoid legs temporarily.
