I think that crybaby has personality, I'm not sure what House of Hakata fans are magnetizing towards, but from this it's most likely personality based, in particular those that stand out. But like in AKB48, that's just Hakata, they must be wary to not focus only just the local, need a nationwide reach. Nanaka of the 6th gen fits that bill, Reia of the 6th gen needs improvement but close to support role, Miyu of the 6th gen has something negative in her, impatient eyes, greedy too, might have hard time support role, need to take care of this.

Do they make market study of regional likes and dislikes? Though marketing data is not all there is to it, often times the customer doesn't know what they like until it's in front of them, that's why sometimes you push with your innovation, until it clicks, but ofcourse there's a problem with just gambling, throwing things until something sticks. I can't remember the solution I've thought about this a long time ago. It's not guessing, it's also not just going by your gut feeling. It does take into consideration the data, but not wholly based on it. It's kinda near the word of "usability", has long lasting repercussions, not just the short term, and like what they say any small thing can lead to a big thing. Ah! Also "engineeringability", I made up that word, tweaking the product and the odds again and again. You can tweak the odds to your favor, though never expect it to be 100%.
