In the illustration, some of this sticky red liquid is coming out of her blade, but as mentioned, this is of course magical energy, not blood.

When slashed by this sword, because it seems like the magical and spirit energy is visible as red splashes, even if the victim isn't actually hurt, it sure does make for a gruesome and dangerous image... lol
