Marisa Kirisame is a great action hero, badass without being unrealistically overpowered. She's just a down on her luck witch, which is why it's easy to identify with her, she feels very down to earth(thanks in major parts to ZUN's writing). The shootouts and fights are great, there's an awesome set of villains, like Remilia Scarlet(who strikes the right balance of cool and menace), the series is quotable("Bitch, get out of the way!") and it's a little self-referential(the radio conversation between Marisa and Alice where she complains about extra stages etc). What's there not to like?
