"Now, Futo." Miko repeated insistently. "Before you become a nuisance. Remember that you are here as a representative of the Tao."

"...M-Mine Lady Kumoi, please my humble apologies accept..." The words looked like they hurt Futo to say.

"Accept, Ichirin." Byakuren murmured. "It'll save us all some bother."

Ichirin looked at Byakuren quizzically, then slowly nodded. "I, er, accept your apology. Miss Futo." She awkwardly replied. The two disciples stared at each other. "R-Right, I'd better go...Over there..." Ichirin announced, turning and walking away with a hand pressed against her forehead. "Where the hell is Unzan?" I heard her mutter under her breath.

Futo didn't seem entirely comfortable either. "Prithee, wouldst thou me excuse, for a short time? Have you aught to ask me?" I slowly shook my head, so Futo turned and walked in the opposite direction to Ichirin, leaving me alone with the two religious leaders.

Byakuren looked me up and down. "When you told me that the Garden of the Sun was your venue of choice, I expected something...Different. I've seen the tree - It's visible from the village, after all, but it only appeared recently." Probably whenever Miss Yuuka had ended the magic hiding Mugenkan from view, I thought. "I'd never have expected that someone like Yuuka Kazami lived in a lovely looking mansion such as that." She was much nicer than everyone thought, I said hotly. Byakuren looked from the mansion to me. "Is that right? Hmm...Perhaps it is simply her disposition. I shall have to see about speaking to her in a more relaxed setting..."

"Alas, oh great head monk, I don't believe either of us could get so much as a word out of Yuuka Kazami if she did not wish it. One as strong as her comes rarely, and even I , brilliant as I am, am not egotistical enough to think I could convince her to do something she was not interested in." Miko shook her head, raising a hand with perfectly trimmed fingernails to lift one of her earmuffs. "Ah, yes..." She was looking at me now, one of those infectious smiles on her face. "Romantic indeed." She murmured. "Tell me, how does it feel to marry for love?" I thought for a moment, then ventured that it felt like seeing the sunlight after years in the dark. "Oh-ho, a very romantic answer indeed!" Miko's smile somehow grew, and in spite of myself, I smiled slightly too. "In my time, marriages were conducted for power. Oh, perhaps you'd love your wife, or gradually come to tolerate her, but it was no guarantee. How interesting it is to see times change." She cast her eyes over at Byakuren for a moment. "Well, not that you'd know anything about that." She muttered to her opposite number.

Said opposite number glanced down at her. "I think you'll find that appreciating love in all its forms is one of my favourite hobbies. I am, in fact, overjoyed to be here and to see a couple celebrate their love. In fact, I am more surprised that you, Toyosatomimi no Miko, are willing to stand so close to so many youkai. Hypocritical as you say I am, hmm?" Well, at least they didn't seem content to stop the backhanded compliments. Perhaps that was the sign of a healthy friendship. Or something.

Either way, I didn't really feel like watching the two do it all night, so I hurriedly thanked them both for coming before Miko could reply. Belatedly, I realised that Miko probably knew exactly what I'd just done and could sense why I'd done it. Fortunately, she was also tactful enough to not remark on it. "Ah, perhaps I'm simply open to new ideas. It'd be good if you were, but we both know that you're too fixed in your ways for that. Maybe if you'd stop pretending to be such a squeaky-clean monk, you'd actually get somewhere." At that point, I decided that I was going to be stuck here, so I started looking past the two for an escape route. Happily, I soon found one in the form of something purple behind a tree. So, making a big show of spotting it, I quickly informed Miko and Byakuren that I was going to have to move on. "Hmm? Oh, of course. Don't mind us. Two bickering religious fools aren't what one should focus on when it is their wedding day, after all. Wouldn't you agree, Byakuren Hijiri?"

Byakuren didn't look pleased at being called a fool. "Ah...Yes. Yes, I think so. We must do our best to allow such an important day in one's life to go unhindered, after all.' She slowly nodded. I turned to leave, but paused. Then, turning back, I mentioned that they should keep an eye out for someone wearing a ragged, grey cloak. Quietly, I mentioned the possibility of there being an intruder at the wedding. "An intruder...? Yes, yes...We can keep an eye out. Even two religious fools, as Miko put it, can keep watch." Feeling a little better, I thanked them and moved on.

You know, this conversation is like something that Miko and Byakuren will argue about.

You want to see Byakuren's appeal? the appeal doesn't come solely from her appearance, mostly from her personality and what she did.

She's sealed for youkai's sins, basically similiar to Jesus.
Her personality is always controversial, some depicted her as pacifist, loving priest while some other pictured her as heartless and selfish false savior. Some praise her while some also detest her.
She's a priest, magician and martial artist at the same time. She's classified as three job at once.
And now with Koishi appearently included in Myourenji house, buddhist has most followers and most developed fraction in the series. This shows how charismatic Byakuren is, more appearant than Miko.

I like Miko, she's regal and manly especially with that cape. She can summon swords and shooting light from her sword, and that laugh is pretty badass. Her backstory is also interesting.

But Byakuren has a lot compared to Miko. Also dem titties, BBA and gradient hair. No wonder Japan love her so much after her initial appearance.
Miko still need more time, but I can see her popularity growing.

At least she rarely gets hated like her "hypocrite, youkai-loving scum" rival.

Of these two, who do you think is sluttier, Byakuren or Miko?
Personally, I think it's Byakuren, but that's mostly due to her being a titty monster.

Against Byakuren? Not a fucking chance. Unless ZUN gives her some OP power besides her "lol I can hear 10 people at the same time!" then I don't see a realistic chance of her winning a physical battle against the Touhou Superman.

I only have about a dozen images, and at least one of them gave me a duplicate error trying to post it.

Most of them are of Byakuren intimidating her. For some reason this is an ahegao-level turn-on for me.

I don't know why though. At first I was going to post about how a lot of the Buddhist cast is pretty bland, but that's only because the fanbase has done practically nothing with most of them.

Is it just because the Taoists made a better first impression or what?
