Bubble economy, rising salaries, decadent parties, funny technical gadets, stagnating economy in Europe and USA who looked up to the unbeatable Japanese companies, Japan-bashing, everyone thought the next century is going to be the Japanese century. Well as a European I'm glad that Europe recoverd, though (okay it went downhill since the Euro-crisis).
