Satoko's traps are an important part to her character, though, especially with how they're actually designed, since it makes it clear that Satoko is far more calculating and observant than her childish personality suggests, which is important to Tatarigoroshi, since it makes it clear that Satoko isn't just staying with Teppei out of fear, but because she thinks it's the only way to her goal of reuniting with Satoshi.
