From the initial sketches, I quickly settled on the final design.

I used a lamia as the base. As the Basilisk and Cockatrice often get mixed together, I decided on adding bird scales and feathers to her arms. The tips of her robes, and the metal piece around her neck follow a motif evoking a bird's beak, and her mask's design includes both the element of the eye, as well as feather-like decorations.

For her color scheme, I decided on poisonous-looking shades for her hair and snake half, suggesting the potent venom coursing through her body.
The gaps in her snake body underneath her groin, and her chest area beneath her breasts are glowing red. In fact, they are constantly emitting a light (magical) toxin from their body.
