hi anons! i've been wanting to learn japanese for some time and i've memorized hiragana and katakana, but i just wanted to ask for any anons who might know: what should i do next now that i know all the kana? i've been trying to understand some grammar but its very tough for me so tips on that will be appreciated! i just wanna know if i'm going at this at the wrong way. like if i should learn kanji or some words first.

ill be honest i don't really visit this board so I'm not sure what kind of answers I'm gonna get from here but if theirs one question I'm hopefully going to get an answer too is if there are any ways to learn Japanese online for free and effectively or if its just a false hope? I'm sure you japanophiles would know right?
