Okay, shit. After thinking about it for a bit, her ability to "manipulate the subconscious" might actually be due to a direct action she's partaking in, but her own ability to act while unconscious makes it seem like a subconscious suggestion to bystanders.

It says this in her profile:

No one really knows the full extent of this ability, but maybe if she's eating some delicious food next to you, you wouldn't even notice her or the food she's eating. However, you'd just get a gut feeling that someone is eating, and somewhere in your head, the idea "man, I could really go for some delicious Gensokyan dishes!" could pop up.
