As (you) mention, youkai spawn from belief. This gave me a fapfic idea so strong, I might want to become a one-shot writefag.

Basically the synopsis is:
A human, who practically gets exiled from the human village for adultery and having his way with many wifes, has to leave into the woods. He gambles it all to seek where the onis bathe when they come visit the overworld. After all, all he is good for, is sex. On his quest to impregnate all the onis, he masquerades as a 'youkai of pleasure' who cannot produce offspring, but only have rambunctious sex. He ends up in the onsen that he has heard the devas use, and - well, long story short, impregnates Suika who's drunk off her ass and then Yuugi who caves in after seeing Suika have so much fun. Maybe Kasen too, if my balls have anything left.

I don't know if someone would read such tripe but maybe I'll just write it for myself anyways. It's my current fantasy.
