So if I go visit Japan will the people there be reluctant to lend me stuff? I'm very reliable and I always give stuff back, but I get the impression that foreigners aren't trusted at all. I'm not fat, and I don't really look like an otaku, so I have no idea how they would receive me.

I'm not planning on going there with the intention borrow things, but I'm wondering what would happen if the situation ever came up.
