Seems to me like the primary problem here is head-to-body ratio. Forgive me for reposting your picture, but if you ask me it looks pretty good if you can't see the head. The right leg might be kind of lacking in depth so it looks like it's bending oddly, but that's all and I don't see a problem proportionally.

I'm not sure what parts of the body you have problems with, but you can always practice hands and shoulders with just the face, at least.

I don't know what you two are on about. If he can show me something cute I don't really give a shit, although it's a waste if he doesn't want to learn how to draw bodies.

I don't want to encourage laziness either, but I'd rather him post his work than not. Some people just "get it" after awhile even if they're not actively trying.
