Rika held her hand to her chest and took slow breaths to calm herself. Oryou and Kimiyoshi were already on the stage. It was time for her to make her announcement.

That's right, this was the most important day of all: the day when the curse which had held Hinamizawa and Rika in its grip for over 100 years would officially come to an end. Rika raised her voice to address the villagers, who listened to her words in rapt silence. "Everyone, I have an important announcement to make. I've already gotten Kimiyoshi and Oryou to support me in this." Rika stopped for a moment. She had never felt this nervous and this happy simultaneously. "For a long, looong time, we've believed in the curse of Oyashiro-sama..." Rika recounted the old myths and beliefs of the village, the sacrifices, the curse, everything. "But I'm here to tell you that there is no curse. There never was. Oyashiro-sama is a false, pagan god who doesn't hold a candle to the One True God, Jesus Christ." Rika gave a signal and men in gardener suits appeared from all around the festival grounds, handing out books the size of bricks. "You are already being handed bibles sponsored by the Irie Institute. The institute's Takano is the one who showed me the light. I have never seen someone as purehearted and devoted to the Lord as this saint of a woman." Takano blushed meekly as the crowd briefly turned their attention towards her, before turning their gazes back to Rika. "I've already enrolled in a catholic school to increase my faith in Our Lord and Saviour, so that I can modernize all our practices. There will be no more Watanagashi festival. Instead we'll be celebrating Saint John's day and burning all the relics of our terrible history." Rika smiled brightly at the thought, then continued.

"A new era will now begin for Hinamizawa. An era where we abandon the retarded little gods of our sinful past, and reach peace and prosperity in the light of the Lord. Mii, amen-nodesu~!" Seeing that Rika had finished her speech, the crowd stood in stunned silence. Slowly, some of them started to clap, and soon others joined in, until the whole crowd was clapping and cheering at Rika's beautiful speech. The Saviour of Mankind had finally arrived in Hinamizawa.
