If you don't trust them there are also army manuals you can read all day and such.

You can fire a gun inside too, just don't be retarded about it like cokeman.

However you have to meet a few specific conditions to do it safely.

Pretty much you're limited to .22 only, and you want it to be as quiet as possible. CCI and Colibri make some subsonic and primer only cartridges that have a low report. You can further this by making a homemade suppressor(thats beyond the scope of this, there is plenty info online about it). You need a proper backdrop that will not allow the round to pass through and also reduce the chance of it ricocheting. Something like damp phone books would work well.

You're location plays a big part too, if you are in a rural area you're set. If you live in a suburb in a house with a large lot and distance between your neighbors or you have a basement you shouldn't have much trouble. If you are in some city apartment then you better not try it. You could turn up your computer speakers and play some Call of Duty videos on youtube or whatever to try and mask it but still might be iffy. Of course try to do it during the middle of the day when people are at work.

I have fired my ruger 10/22 on 2 occasions using a pop bottle suppressor and subsonic .22lr. It was a little louder than a BB gun but probably sounded like a stack of books being dropped on the floor on the other side of the wall.

In conclusion it is possible but not really practical at all. Just a thing to do for the sake of doing it. Airsoft would be a better choice for ``serious'' indoors practice and training.

Yes there are a lot of guys like that who take it seriously, I was simply referring to the kids who buy a cheapo AEGs at the mall and make stupid youtube videos of them shooting cans in their backyard.

Again, I think it is a valuable training tool and am looking at some gas blowback guns to practice with.
