Let me put it like this: Your way, Satoko has absolutely not a single reason to do as she's told. If she's promised "happy days" by a demon after being told to kill Rika she's either gonna tell her to go fuck herself or, if she has her wish granted right away, still do fucking nothing.

The way Gou is presented, there's something, no matter how petty you think it is. There's a broken promise and not 5, but 10 whole years of doing shit so Rika can be happy and Satoko can go fuck herself.
