gold detector randomness, since it was bothering me and since we're at bump limit. three bad replays, three images per gif, same order.

nazrin's first two movements (left and then right) each has a random vertical component, which can be up or down (and can result in her dumpstering you if you're shotgunning too closely) and which affects laser spawn locations and trajectories (which is more pronounced with the second movement; see next image). this, in turn, affects bullet spawn locations, since bullets spawn from laser impact points. however, variance due to these factors doesn't become significant until the player returns to the left side of the screen, which usually doesn't happen. but it can happen if too much time is spent off-target with a weaker shot (especially reimu b, but potentially also sanae a or even marisa b).

the most significant variance is with bullets (pic related). constants are: they spawn in a semicircle, seem to be evenly spaced (as far as i could eyeball, at least), are given an initial outward velocity, and have a downward acceleration for roughly 2.5s (after which point their velocity is unchanged). however, the spawn locations as a whole on that semicircle can be rotated several degrees (see third image for a better example). each semicircle's rotation seems independent of the other semicircles (and even independent of laser variance because it also happens with initial lasers [before the boss moves], which are always the same). so it's not simply a shifted pattern that can be identified then dodged more or less the same way every time: gap locations and timings can be completely different, so some improv is required.

for completionism's sake, going back to boss movement: the third movement is to a fixed position with 25.00s left on the timer, which is centered horizontally but about half the boss' sprite height higher than at the start of the spell. the fourth and fifth movements mirror the first and second and can vary vertically in the same manner, the sixth movement returns to the same fixed position as the third movement, then everything repeats from the first movement (but from this lower starting position, which doesn't change).

tl;dr: if you're like me and occasionally screw up gold detector and are wondering if you're retarded, sometimes it's just harder. not that this rules out anything else, of course.
