Fish contain methylmercury. Methylmercury is particularly insidious because it can bioaccumulate in fat cells, so it disperses within the body more easily than mercury salts or pure elemental mercury. Extended periods of methylmercury intake (e.g regular consumption of swordfish or low-grade tuna) lead to insanity and other symptoms consistent with mercury poison. Otaku have social deficiencies consistent with some definitions of insanity. Therefore, fish do embody otaku culture.
